Wind insulation windows Window
When deciding on the replacement of windows or their overhaul, a homeowner, in addition to protecting the premises from the impact of atmospheric phenomena, thinks of the sound insulation.
Content
Any windows: plastic, aluminum or wooden, over time, lose their properties - tightness, sound insulation, and wooden to all can be deformed.
Causes of wind tightness disorders
- Violation of the integrity of sealing gaskets, both between the frame and sash, and between the double glazed and sash.
- Changing the spatial position of windows of windows relative to the frame.
- Disrupting the tightness of insulating materials between the window frame and the wall of the building.
- Due to the deformation of the wooden frame and the flaps, the formation of the backlash between the glass and the wooden window design.
- The consequences of all these changes lead not only to the impaired sound insulation, but to the penetration of street air to the room. Eliminating this problem.
- The complete replacement of windows, which is most often happening with wooden, they are simply changed to windows made of plastic or aluminum profiles.
- Or repair installed window structures.
Noise insulation of plastic windows
It is no secret that one of the reasons that led to the stable popularity of windows made from a plastic profile was and there are high-quality insulation of plastic windows that these very windows provide. This is achieved in a number of design features and properties of the material (PVC).
First, there is no direct contact between the sash and the frame. They are separated by a special laying of polymeric materials (EPDN). This gasket solves at the same time two tasks: ensuring the tightness of the connection between the sash and the frame, and partial breeding of vibration arising from various street noises, etc.
Secondly, the main work on ensuring noise insulation takes on glass windows, which are equipped with windows manufactured from plastic or aluminum profiles.
The quality of sound insulation is directly related to the design of the glass package, its thickness. Nowadays, manufacturers of transparent structures offer the consumer double-glazed windows of different thicknesses: 24, 32, 36 and 42 mm, and different designs. The highlight of this design lies in the fact that in the chamber between the glass contains either air or gas that prevents intensive heat exchange between the media, which shares the window and provides reliable sound insulation.
Depending on the glass thickness, the number of glasses and cameras changes. So with a thickness of 24 mm in the design, 2 glasses are included, with a thickness of 32 mm - three glasses. The thicker the glass, the better noise insulation. Plastic windows with noise insulation can be equipped with special noise absorbing glasses.
1. Double double-chamber glass.
2. Firecase simplified scheme.
One thing can be argued in the event of damage to the glass package, it remains only to be replaced. When carrying out installation works, it is necessary to track that there are no cracks on the installed double-glazed windows, chips, dorms.
Any defect is a marriage and installation of it is unacceptable. The noise insulation of PVC windows will be fully ensured only when all the design and technological requirements for the manufacture and operation of structures are observed.
To eliminate other defects, plastic windows need to carry out repair work, for the implementation of which it is better to invite specialists who carried out the installation of the window.
Noise insulation of wooden windows
Increasingly, residents began to replace wooden windows plastic. Despite this, the proportion of wooden is a significant amount. The windows of wood have a number of shortcomings in comparison with modern plastic. This is the absence of sealing pads and their deformation under the influence of atmospheric phenomena, temperature drop.
Such deformations lead to the weakening of the articulations of the elements of the design of the flaps and the frame, the clamping of the stroke weakens. Fasteners start with difficulty entering their places in the frame.
Noise isolation of windows with your own hands requires the use of a building corner, roulette, hammer, a flat steel corner. To carry out these works, a smooth surface is necessary.
Noise insulation of wooden windows with their own hands
- Remove the glass from the sash, pre-on it (glass) put tags: facial and inside, top, bottom. It is required not to confuse the glass and do not create problems when they are reversed.
- To put the removed sash to the smooth place so that the bed for laying the glass turned out to be top.
- With the help of a construction kitchen, put internal angles in 90 0, Figure 3, pos. B.
Wooden window sash before repairing pos. A, after repairing pos. B.
- After placing the corners, with the help of a roulette, check the diagonal 1 and 2. Ideally, they should be equal.
- With the help of screws, fasten the frame in the result. Before installing the glass, clean the bed, remove the trash, the old paint and the residues of the seal (putty).
- To clean the bed, apply a layer of silicone sealant. It serves as a seal between glass and sash.
- Using a small hammer, fix the strokes. In no case cannot be installed nails to the old place. Some craftsmen recommend a layer of sealant before fixing the window, it can always be deleted.
The operation of this kind must be carried out with all the sash, the windows installed on the window. The result of the repair work will be the restored elements of the window design. Due to the fact that the sash will be easily entering the old place, and the glass will be eliminated with the backlash, the noise insulation of the wooden window will be strengthened.
Alternatively, one can consider the replacement of conventional glasses with thicker or special noise reductive, they are also called triplex. This material consisting of three layers of glass glued together. It increases sound insulation, it is difficult to smash it. Analogs of such glasses are used in the automotive industry.
