Laying parquet boards on a cork substrate with your own hands Floors
One of the popular modern outdoor materials is a parquet board. It is placed in residential premises of any type. A wide palette of colors and textures allows you to choose a coating for finishing the interior in any style. It should be borne in mind that laying of the parquet board should be performed in accordance with certain rules.

What to pay attention to when choosing a parquet board
In addition to appearance, parquet boards differ in operational characteristics. It is important that the floor covering is durable and wear-resistant. High-quality boards are three-layer.
- The facial (upper) layer should be made of solid wood (oak, beech, housing). The thickness of this layer is not less than 1 mm. Special varnish is applied to the front surface.
- The middle layer consists of cheapelled wood glued together (usually coniferous). In this layer there is a locking mechanism designed to connect the boards.
- The lower layer is also of the wood of a coniferous rock, the fibers of which are oriented so that the parquet board is solid and rigid enough. The thickness of the lower layer is 2 mm and more.
Important: In the event that under the parquet board it is planned to install a warm floor, the thickness of the floor cover must be at least 15 cm. But the boards should not be heated above 27 ° C.
Laying parquet board with your own hands: Step-by-step instruction
There are two ways to install a parquet board: adhesive and floating. The latter is used more often, since most of the floor coverings of this type have castle compounds, which simplifies the laying.
Installation of a parquet board by floating method
Preparatory work occupy the largest part in the total volume. The algorithm of action should be as follows.
- The base of the floor is released from the old coating, from paint. Destroyed cement screed fragments dismantle.
- The surface of the floor after processing the primer is aligned with the new screed. To get the perfectly level base, use the self-leveling mixture. Overlooking, not exceeding 2 mm in height per 1 m in any horizontal direction (verified using the rule and the square).
- In order to eliminate the irregularities of the boardwalk, on the floor laid the phaneer with a thickness of at least 12 mm and fasten it with self-draws. Along the walls leave a compensation gap of 5-8 mm, which is subsequently closed by a plinth.
- The prepared base is covered with a vaporizolation material with the allen on the walls. The film must be solid, without breaks (the connections are sampled by scotch).
- Place the substrate, which uses rolls of foamed polyethylene, extruded polystyrene foam or cork. The tube substrate has the best heat and sound insulation. This natural material is resistant to fungi and mold.

IMPORTANT: Parquet board, styling which is planned, must be supplied in the room at least two days. This is necessary to adapt the material to the microclimate.
After the preparation is completed, proceed to the main stage of work. This is followed by the following rules.
- The first board should take its place in the left far corner of the room. The elements of the castle compound on the long side must be cut off by the electroll bison. It is a cut that the board must be addressed towards the wall.
- The second board is joined to the first end face. The length of its side should also be freed from the lock elements. The first series continues similarly. The length of the final board should not be less than 200 mm. If this condition is not met - shorten the first board to the desired value (from the left end).
- Between the wall boards and wedges inserted 5-8 mm: clearance is necessary to compensate for the thermal expansion of the floor material.
- Begin laying the second row from the last board of the first row. The junction of each row of boards do not overlap with the compounds of the boards of adjacent rows.
- For a better connection elements cover boards inciting wooden hammer through a special bar.
- The last row, if necessary, reduced in width. Boards are set into place with the help of a special device in the form of a nail puller or crowbar. In this case, the curved edge of the device rests on the wall (in this protected place with a cardboard), and the other - in the board.
- If the flooring is laid in two adjacent areas - in the threshold necessary to leave a gap of 5 mm, which is closed by a special bar.
- Once all boards are laid, the wedges are removed and mounted plinth. The coating can be operated immediately after installation.
The panels are connected by a locking system
Note: care must be taken not to fall dust and dirt in the lock connection. During the installation of boards is necessary to use a vacuum cleaner periodically to do wet cleaning.

Laying boards adhesive method
Use "tongue and groove" glued method generally laying floorboard with a compound of type. The basis of the pre-aligned waterproof plywood, or plate OSB. Installation requires the functionality.
- Is applied over the base primer based on synthetics.
- After complete drying it should be noted boundary marker of the first row of boards.
- Glue is applied to the marked area and spread evenly over the surface of a toothed spatula.
- Boards of the first row are placed on the base and firmly pressed thereto. Along the walls set the blocking wedges.
- Similarly the following rows are mounted, offset by half the length of a single plank.
- Along the perimeter of the plinth is secured premises.
- Load floor covering may be no earlier than the turn of 2 days. Drying must occur in windows and doors closed to avoid extremes of humidity.
IMPORTANT: When laying boards, it is necessary to ensure that the glue does not get to the site of the spin-groove. Laying the parquet board with their own hands on the faeer is allowed using special adhesive compositions made on water based.
Parpet laying technology
Despite the popularity of modern materials, the piece parquet remains frequently used flooring. Laying of a piece parquet is performed after the end of all finishing works: the ceiling and walls must already be prepared. But first should choose the most suitable parquet for the interior decoration from the variety of his species.
What to pay attention to when choosing a piece parquet
Choosing a piece parquet, take into account the following characteristics.
- Size planks: The length of them can vary from 15 to 40 cm, the width - from 3 to 9 cm. Thickness - in the range of 1.5-2.2 cm. It is observed that the slats of a small size visually increase the floor area, and large - reduce it . In addition, large planks are demanding of the preparation of the base: it should be perfectly smooth.
- Wood quality: bitch and cracks on the front surface are not allowed. The protective layer must be thick enough.
- The groove-comb compound should allow installing slats without gaps. The quality of the parquet is checked by a test connection of several slats.
For the production of parquet use various varieties of solid wood:
- oak - aesthetically attractive material, resistant to moisture;
- beech - has no less solid than oak, wood reddish-yellow shade;
- maple - hard material of almost white (with time slightly yellowing);
- cherry - pinkish-brown wood, relatively softer;
- merbau is an exotic breed with beautiful patterns.
Tip: Parquet of wood of any breed should be withstanding several days under operating conditions so that the material can adapt to the humidity and room temperature.
Preparatory stage
Before laying the parquet, the floor must be prepared. For this, the following works are performed.
- The old coating is dismantled, the construction trash is cleaned.
- The waterproofing film with intake on the walls is laid - about 10 cm.
- Aligns the base. Cement screed must be a thickness of at least 40 mm. For greater strength in the middle layer, the reinforcing grid is laid. Further work can continue after complete drying of the leveling layer: humidity is allowed not more than 4%.
- It is fed on the glue moisture-resistant plywood and attached to the screed of a dowel-nail. This will make the coating more reliable.
Types of parquet laying
Parquet allows you to choose any option from a wide variety of plank combinations to create an original pattern. Distinguish the following types of laying:
- "Deck" - the planks are placed in a way that resembles the technology of installation of a parquet board, that is, parallel rows with a displacement;
- "Christmas tree" - Tests of slats are located at right angles to each other;
- "Braided" - a geometrical pattern is formed due to mutually perpendicular groups connected together to the slats (it is possible to use different rocks and wood textures);
- "Rhombid" - in this case, the planks of a special form are applied;
- Sheremetyevskaya Star is a combination of diamond and rectangular planks.

Tip: In order to visually increase the area of \u200b\u200bthe room, it is recommended to lay parquet diagonally.

Basic Operations Playing Parquet
Laying parquet provides the following actions.
Laying parquet "Christmas tree" is performed from the center of the room - to the sides
- On the paper is a layout of the flooring of parquet. This is necessary in order for the pattern to be symmetrical and properly located.
- If the pattern of the coating should be symmetrical relative to the axial line of the room - we mark the axial line with the help of the "Lightweight Cord", from where the Laying of Parquet will begin.
- Glue is applied to the base (Faneur) and the ends, "spike" and "groove" of the stacked planks are applied. The glue on the surface of the plywood is distributed to the toothed spatula.
- The planks are stacked in their place and tightly pressed. At the same time, the "spike" should be addressed towards the Parquet Stacker. Speaking excess glue are cleaned with a spatula.
- Fresh slap at least two self-taps, screwing them down at an angle in the groove so that the hat is completely recessed into the wood. It is allowed to use nails.
- Between the parquet and walls insert wedges to form a 03 mm clearance.
- The glue must dry at least within a week. Windows and doors should be closed: moisture and temperature drops during this period are not allowed.
- Surface defects are eliminated by a cyclical machine in two or three receptions.
- The gaps and gaps are filled with a special putty, selected in color.
- After wet cleaning and drying, the wood of parquet is processed by primer.
- Protective varnish in several layers (minimum three layers) are applied. Use the roller to work. There should be at least 24 hours between the application of each layer of varnish.
